Mixing Metals
–
This summer we are mixing it up! This season it’s all about playing with both warm and cool metallic tones. Mixing the warmer tones of copper, gold or brass with the cooler tones of chrome, silver, and steel brings sophisticated dazzle to your interior. Today, Best Design Books is going to show you why mixing metals is the new trend you will want to follow.
Metal isn’t just for the kitchen and bathroom, it can also liven up a living space. Typically larger than the kitchen or bath, the living room provides a larger playground, which is nice if you want to try new ideas.
LAPIAZ CONSOLE
Resembling a freshly cracked stone, the Lapiaz Console celebrates the world’s treasures, which are revealed to a select few. Drawing inspiration from Boca do Lobo’s emblematic Lapiaz line, this modern console suits a variety of environments thanks to its graceful form. Finding balance in terms of shape, and materials, the Lapiaz Console breathes sophistication and delicacy, maintaining a light presence. The Lapiaz’s interior is finished in polished brass which is manually fitted, a unique element that can be complemented with polished stainless steel, or with Boca do Lobo’s selection of wood veneers, ensuring a match with its context.
DIAMOND PYRITE
Projected to be the jewel in the crown of the Portuguese brand Boca do Lobo, the Diamond Sideboard is a reflection of the furniture jeweler’s expertise and quintessence, undoubtedly deserving its title. This opulent object, full of resources and desire, has two carefully sculpted doors that reveal a lined interior with shelves and two drawers. This piece is inspired by the gothic furniture of the romantic period, with its capacity to take advantage of the power of imagination, prevision, and escape, without forgetting its unique character.
LAPIAZ MIRROR
Lapiaz round mirror takes exceptional craftsmanship and design to a new realm. Finding beauty in the most unexpected places, this contemporary design piece is inspired by authentic karst formations created by surface dissolution, freezing, or thawing of limestone or dolomite rocks. The organic features of this large mirror are achieved through the manual fitting of golden polished brass, finishes in polished stainless steel. The hammered gold details and the mirrored façade conveys a beautiful duality between power and refinement to bring a new contemporary verve into interior design. A functional artwork piece born from cold and freshly cracked to showing off the world rich, golden details.
