Among its wide-ranging holdings are milestone pieces–the prototype of the Grand Confort Chair by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret (1928) and Pierre Chareau’s desk for Robert Mallet-Stevens (1927), for example–and practical, everyday triumphs of design, like the Bic Cristal ballpoint pen (1950).
